Two Cities Marathon 10K — M20-24: Morales Runs Away With It

• Harrison Morales (1st, 49:10) won the M20-24 age group at a 7:55/mi clip, finishing more than two minutes clear of the field.
• John Voll (2nd, 51:12) was the runner-up at 8:14/mi — a solid 2:02 behind Morales but 1:34 ahead of 3rd place.
• Mitchell McQueen (3rd, 52:46) and Andrey A. Castro (4th, 53:01) were separated by just 15 seconds, with Andres Tablas-Ayala (5th, 53:26) only 25 seconds further back — three men packed into a 40-second window.
• 13 finishers completed the M20-24 race, spanning from Morales's 49:10 to Armando Ruiz Sanchez's 1:32:45 finish in 13th.

Harrison Morales, just 20 years old out of Clovis, owned this race from the results sheet outward. His 49:10 at a 7:55/mi average put him in a category of his own — two full minutes faster than anyone else in the M20-24 group. John Voll (2nd, 51:12) ran a respectable 8:14/mi to claim the runner-up spot, but Morales was simply in a different gear on the day.

The real drama in this age group played out in the battle for 3rd through 5th. Mitchell McQueen (3rd, 52:46), Andrey A. Castro (4th, 53:01), and Andres Tablas-Ayala (5th, 53:26) were separated by a combined 40 seconds across 6.2 miles — a genuinely tight three-way contest. Giordano Primavera rounded out the top six in 54:05, keeping the competition honest all the way through that tier.

The back half of the field spread out considerably. Oscar Corona finished 7th in 55:07, followed by Oscar Rosales (8th, 58:09) and Daniel Abundis (9th, 59:37). Javier Menchaca crossed in 10th at 1:01:12. Luz Mendoza (11th, 1:10:10), Alexis Garcia (12th, 1:21:46), and Armando Ruiz Sanchez (13th, 1:32:45) completed the group — all 13 earning their finishes on the streets of Fresno.
