Two Cities Marathon 5K — F60-64: Sabina Yee Runs Away With It

• Sabina Yee wins in 26:16 at an 8:27/mi pace — more than four minutes clear of the field.
• Norma Cantu takes 2nd in 30:23, the only other finisher under 35 minutes.
• Mads Schroeder and Molly Robert battle for the final podium spot, finishing 3rd (35:02) and 4th (35:43) — just 41 seconds apart.
• Kathy Grimes and Sheryl Boe both clock 40:50 to finish 7th and 8th respectively, separated only by the finest of margins.

Sabina Yee of Lemoore made the F60-64 race her own from the start, crossing in 26:16 at a crisp 8:27/mi. That time put her more than four minutes ahead of 2nd-place Norma Cantu (30:23, 9:47/mi) — a commanding margin in a 5K that left no doubt about who owned this age group on race day.

Behind Cantu, the real drama played out in the chase for 3rd. Mads Schroeder of Fresno held off Molly Robert of Napa by 41 seconds — 35:02 to 35:43 — to claim the final podium spot. Andrea West (37:25) and Carla Aguirre (37:55) rounded out a tight cluster in 5th and 6th, separated by just 30 seconds and both running in the 12:00/mi range.

Further back, Kathy Grimes and Sheryl Boe — both from Clovis — crossed in the exact same displayed time of 40:50, with Grimes edging into 7th and Boe finishing 8th by the narrowest of margins. Arlene Nishimura (41:26, 9th) and Karen Prudek (41:42, 10th) kept the pressure on, making for a genuinely competitive mid-pack stretch. All 25 finishers in the F60-64 group brought it home on a Sunday morning in Fresno, with Jenell Barnes of Merced closing out the listed field in 20th at 57:06.
