Two Cities 5K — F15-19: Pedraza Runs Away from the Field

• Lexanna Pedraza (1st, 25:02) won by 3 minutes and 36 seconds — the largest margin in the F15-19 group — averaging 8:03/mi to finish well clear of the rest.
• Reese Mendes (3rd, 28:46) edged Taylor Shapiro (4th, 29:03) by 17 seconds, while Taylor and Brooklynblair Shapiro (5th, 29:03) finished in the same clock time — with Taylor holding 4th by a whisker.
• Aaliyah Carrillo (7th, 36:07), Isabella Bromell (8th, 36:16), and Belle Singmuongthong (9th, 36:19) were separated by just 12 seconds across three finishers.
• 15 runners from across the Central Valley — Fresno, Clovis, Tulare, Sanger, Fowler, and Madera — made up the F15-19 field.

Lexanna Pedraza, 16, from Clovis, simply had a different race in mind. Her 8:03/mi pace put her in a class of her own from the start, and she crossed in 25:02 — more than three and a half minutes ahead of second-place Erin Locatelli (28:38, 9:13/mi). That's not a close race at the front; that's a statement.

Behind Locatelli, the battle for the rest of the podium was considerably tighter. Reese Mendes of Tulare claimed 3rd in 28:46, holding off a hard charge from the Shapiro duo. Taylor (4th, 29:03) and Brooklynblair (5th, 29:03) — both from Fresno — crossed in the identical displayed time, but the timing system separated them, with Taylor edging her ahead by the narrowest of margins. Ani Parnagian rounded out the top six in 31:13 (10:03/mi), more than two minutes back of 5th.

Further down the field, a genuine three-way battle unfolded for 7th through 9th. Carrillo (36:07), Bromell (36:16), and Singmuongthong (36:19) finished within a 12-second window — each separated by single digits on the clock. Lola English (10th, 38:57) and Alyssa Jimenez (11th, 39:00) staged their own quiet duel, just three seconds apart. Every finisher from Damariz Salinas (12th, 44:05) through Kyoah Hogan (15th, 58:50) completed the course and earned their result on a Sunday morning in Fresno.
