The 29-year-old from Bakersfield crossed in 1:23:00 — a 6:20/mi average — and never relinquished the lead, holding first place from the opening checkpoint all the way to the tape. She didn't just win; she also owned the fastest women's split in the back half of the race from 10K to the finish, meaning she got stronger as the field worked to keep pace behind her.
