Daniel Anderson put together the strongest M40-44 performance of the day, crossing in 1:20:11 at a 6:07/mi clip. That pace held up all the way to the finish — Anderson was running near the front of the men's field throughout, and his 10K-to-finish split ranked among the fastest in the entire race. There was no coasting here; this was a controlled, committed effort from wire to wire.

Jason Dudley, 43, made it a genuine race at the top. Running 6:09/mi for 1:20:41, Dudley finished just 30 seconds behind Anderson — the gap is narrow on the clock, but the paces tell the real story. Anderson's final stretch was faster, meaning Dudley was chasing a moving target rather than simply running him down. Still, second in M40-44 at that speed is a serious result, and Dudley's 10K-to-finish split was the seventh-fastest among the men in that segment.
