The Erie, CO 37-year-old crossed in 28:15 at a blistering 5:41/mi average — nearly four minutes clear of second place — and held 6th among all women from the gun through the 4-mile mark before her 2nd-fastest women's closing split launched her to 2nd among women at the finish. In a 506-woman F35-39 field, that's a performance that towered over the rest of the age group.

Behind her, the real drama unfolded in the final miles. Bailey Wilson (Washington, DC) was methodical through 4M, sitting 10th among women, then unleashed the 6th-fastest women's closing split to finish 2nd in F35-39 at 32:21 (6:30/mi). Ashley Craig (Lynchburg, VA) made an even bigger move in the second half — 18th among women at the midpoint, she climbed to 11th by the finish, crossing 3rd in 34:37 (6:58/mi) with the 11th-fastest women's second-half split.

The battle for 4th was one of the tightest of the day. Rebecca Parker (Norfolk, VA) came in 4th at 36:28, having charged from 38th among women at the 4M mark all the way to 20th — the 15th-fastest women's second-half split. Alissa Savage-Paul (Stafford, VA) finished just 2 seconds back in 36:30, but she ran a more even race; Parker was the one who caught her, closing harder over those final miles.
