Sadie Ross, just 11 years old and racing out of Copper Hill, VA, took control early and never let go. She moved from 23rd among women at the first checkpoint to 19th by the finish, steadily threading through the broader women's field while her F11–14 rivals couldn't close the gap. Her 36:26 — 7:20 per mile on a humid 62°F morning with a 9 mph wind — was simply a level above the competition.

The real drama in the closing miles belonged to Lilly Beth Hedley. The 12-year-old from Virginia Beach ran the 12th-fastest women's split on the 4M-to-Finish stretch in the entire women's field — a genuine surge that vaulted her from 37th among women at the midpoint to 27th at the line. She finished in 37:00, claiming 2nd place by more than two minutes over 3rd.

Ava Karsanac, 13, made the most dramatic climb of anyone in the top group. She entered the 2M–4M segment ranked 100th among women, then ripped the 37th-fastest women's split on that stretch to jump to 62nd — and kept pressing to finish 51st among women in 39:04. That's a 49-place gain across the women's field in the back half of the race. Brooklyn Hoberg (4th, 40:55) and Ellie Pellegrini (5th, 41:24) rounded out the top five, though both faded through the second half, sliding backward in the women's standings as the race wore on.

Behind the top five, places 6 through 12 were tightly bunched — Charlotte Cole (6th, 41:27), Olivia Claunch (7th, 41:34), and Alessandra Madison (8th, 41:37) all finished within 10 seconds of each other, with Aubrielle LaFrance (9th, 41:54) and Katherine Pancentrilli (10th, 42:17) close behind.
