Nate Kucera, 45, of Fresno, made this race look like a different event from everyone else's. His 22:30 finish at 7:15/mi wasn't just a win — it was a statement, arriving more than two full minutes ahead of the field. No one in the M45-49 group came close to matching that pace; Nathan Lev's 7:53/mi for 2nd place is a meaningful step back, not a near-miss.

The back half of the M45-49 group saw a noticeable spread, with Jay Gill (16th, 35:31) opening a gap of over four minutes to 15th place before the times stretched further through Brent Taylor (20th, 41:01) and five additional finishers beyond. Every man who toed the line in this age group got it done on the streets of Fresno.
