Two Cities Marathon 5K — F50-54: Harlow Dominates in Fresno

• Stephanie Harlow, 52, wins in 27:43 — an 8:55/mi pace that left the rest of the F50-54 field more than seven minutes back.
• Tightest battle of the day: Amanda Peterson (3rd, 36:33) and Diana Millhollin (4th, 36:35) — just two seconds apart at the finish line.
• Song Vu and Doua Vu crossed at exactly 42:53, claiming 10th and 11th respectively — the closest same-time finish in the group.

Stephanie Harlow made the F50-54 race her own from the gun. The 52-year-old Fresno native posted a 27:43 finish at 8:55/mi — a pace that was simply in a different gear from the rest of the 43-woman field. Second-place Delilah Carrillo of Visalia finished in 35:02 (11:17/mi), meaning Harlow's winning margin was a commanding 7 minutes and 19 seconds. That gap tells the whole story of the top of the leaderboard.

Behind Carrillo, the race got genuinely interesting. Amanda Peterson (36:33, 11:46/mi) and Diana Millhollin (36:35, 11:47/mi) fought all the way to the finish line, with Peterson holding on by just two seconds for 3rd. Erin Fugere rounded out the top five in 37:27, and Kim Duchscher and Sonja Thiede kept things competitive through the middle of the pack, finishing 6th and 7th in 39:05 and 39:31 respectively.

Further back, Song Vu (Merced) and Doua Vu (Fresno) both clocked 42:53 to finish 10th and 11th — the timing system separating them by the slimmest of margins. The field stretched out from there through the teens, with a cluster of Clovis and Fresno runners trading spots between 14 and 15 minutes per mile. All told, 43 women aged 50–54 made it to the finish line in downtown Fresno on a late-October morning.
