Two Cities 5K — F20-24: Maciel Dominates in 25:00

Lisette Maciel, 24, of Turlock, made the F20-24 race her own from the start. Her 25:00 finish at 8:03/mi wasn't just a win — it was a statement, putting more than three minutes between herself and the rest of the field. That gap to runner-up Mandeep Kaur (28:14, 9:05/mi) tells the story cleanly: Maciel ran a meaningfully faster pace and was never seriously challenged.

Behind Maciel, the real competition played out between Kaur and the two Annas chasing her. Kaur held 2nd comfortably, finishing in 28:14. But the battle for the final podium spot was genuinely tight: Anna O'Meara of Redlands crossed in 29:06 and Alexis Pena of Tulare in 29:16 — just 10 seconds separating 3rd from 4th. O'Meara held on, but Pena made it close.

Anna Duran rounded out the top five in 32:15, followed by Erica Aroz (33:30) and Crystal Campos (34:18) in 6th and 7th. The middle of the field clustered between 35 and 39 minutes, with Carolina Nunez (35:06), Alicia Aroz (35:21), Berenice Sotelo (36:14), and Bryanna Vera (36:22) all finishing within about 75 seconds of each other in 8th through 11th. With 24 women finishing across a broad range of paces, the F20-24 group brought real depth to the Two Cities 5K start line in Fresno.
