Lori Guynn made the F70-74 race her own from the start. The 72-year-old from Davis ran a composed 10:53-per-mile pace to finish in 1:07:38 — a margin that left no doubt about who was in charge. She was moving through the women's field steadily across both halves of the race, posting the 354th-fastest second-5K split among all women, and she entered the final stretch having already put the result beyond question.

Behind her, the race's most compelling subplot played out between Karin Boston and Rosa Mitchell. Boston crossed in 1:21:49 and Mitchell in 1:22:12 — just 23 seconds after 6.2 miles of racing. Mitchell actually gained ground in the second half, climbing from 674th to 668th among women in the back half while Boston slipped slightly, but it wasn't quite enough to overturn the gap Boston had built. Third place was Boston's by a slim but clear margin.

Kora Bitcon ran a steady race to claim second in 1:16:14, nearly 5½ minutes behind Guynn but a comfortable 5½ minutes ahead of the third-place battle. Further back, Nancy Landers (74) and Cindy Monroe (70) traded blows across the course before finishing within 34 seconds of each other in fifth and sixth, with Robin Hintze, Martha Torres-Montoya, Lucy Pratt, Barbara Ward, and Beverly Shimizu completing a full 11-finisher group. Every woman who started finished — a fine result on a crisp St. Patrick's Day weekend morning in West Sacramento.
