Elizabeth Fraser made the F45-49 race look straightforward from the opening kilometer. Running at 7:49 per mile, she crossed in 48:31 — a margin of more than four minutes over second place in a field of 89 women. She also backed it up with the 13th-fastest women's split on the second 5K, meaning she wasn't just fast early; she was still moving well when others were beginning to feel the miles. Clear skies and mild 56°F temperatures gave everyone a fair shot, and Fraser made the most of it.

Behind her, the battle for 2nd and 3rd was genuinely compelling. Kellie Beck, 49, from Acampo, held the position she'd earned through the first half and finished in 52:48. But Abby Bewley, 45, from Sacramento, was hunting. Bewley ran the 19th-fastest women's split on the back 5K in the entire women's field, vaulting from 49th to 31st among women overall — but 17 seconds wasn't quite enough to reel Beck in. Second place stayed Beck's by that slim margin.
