Erin Deloney set the tone from the gun, running 5:58/mi to finish in 18:31 and win the women's race by 27 seconds over Jaimee Troyer. That margin is decisive — Troyer's 18:58 was a strong run in its own right, but Deloney was in a different gear all morning. Suzanne Stewart rounded out the podium in 19:12, giving the top three a clean separation with 14 seconds between second and third.

After the podium, the next cluster told a different story. Danielle Eriksen (4th, 21:00) and Andrea Guggenbickler (5th, 21:27) were separated by 27 seconds, with Michelle Zamora (6th, 21:41) and Tracy Parrott (7th, 21:54) close behind. Parrott, 56, running 7:03/mi to finish 7th among 1,525 women, was one of the quieter standout performances of the day. Rebekah Gordon (8th, 22:01) and Meghan Fornaro (9th, 22:16) kept the mid-pack competitive through the finish.

But the youth story is impossible to ignore. Three 12-year-olds — Machado, Warta, and Orr — finished 10th, 12th, and 15th respectively, each running sub-7:43 pace against a field of over 1,500. And then there's Bailey Quok, just 8 years old, finishing 17th in 24:16. On a cool, clear March morning in West Sacramento, the Shamrock'n 5K women's race delivered a dominant win at the front and a genuinely remarkable collection of performances all the way down the leaderboard.
