Shamrock'n 5K F35-39: Troyer blazes to the top in 18:58

• Michelle Zamora rounded out the podium in 21:41, separating herself clearly from the pack that followed.
• Debbie Ferguson and Sarah Tabor both clocked 26:32 but Ferguson (11th) edged Tabor (12th) by just 0.34 seconds — the tightest margin in the age group.

Jaimee Troyer came to West Sacramento and made her presence felt immediately. Running 6:06 per mile across 3.1 miles in 54°F conditions, the Palmer Lake, CO native put up a time that stood alone at the front of a 207-woman field. Her 14-second margin over Suzanne Stewart was decisive — not a photo-finish win, but a clear statement of control from the opening mile to the finish line.

Stewart, representing El Dorado Hills, held firm in second at 19:12 (6:11/mi). The real story behind the podium, though, is the gap that opened up after her: Michelle Zamora of Elk Grove crossed in 21:41, nearly two and a half minutes back, claiming third. From there, a dense cluster formed between 25:17 and 26:27 — seven runners (4th through 10th) packed into just over a minute of racing.

The most dramatic moment of the age group may have happened at 11th and 12th place, where Sacramento's Debbie Ferguson and Sarah Tabor both registered 26:32 on the clock. But the timing system had the final word: Ferguson finished ahead by 0.34 seconds, a gap invisible to any spectator but very real in the results.

Tahira Singh and Alexandria Traster closed out the top 20 in a near-mirror finish of their own — both at 9:14/mi pace, separated by just one second (28:41 and 28:42). In a field of 207, the F35-39 age group delivered competition all the way down the standings.
