Behind Gordon, Fernandez (25:38) had a comfortable hold on 2nd, but the battle for the final podium spot was genuinely tense. Mckenna Grimes of Roseville crossed in 26:00 to claim 3rd, with Sacramento's Claudia Marie Huynh just 11 seconds back in 4th at 26:11. Addison Scott (26:40) and Linnea Woodfork (26:57) rounded out a tight mid-pack cluster, with six runners separated by under a minute from 3rd through 7th.

The race's most dramatic moment — at least on the clock — came at 8th and 9th.
