Carson Wohlers, 21, from Spencerport, NY, was locked in from the gun. She sat 3rd among women at every checkpoint without wavering — a picture of controlled, consistent racing — and then punctuated it with the 2nd-fastest women's split on the 20K-to-Finish stretch, confirming she had something left when it mattered most. Her 1:53:59 at 8:42 per mile was a composed, well-managed effort from wire to wire.

Tisha Cajes, 23, racing on home turf in Virginia Beach, had a more dynamic afternoon. She worked her way through the women's field during the middle portion of the race, climbing from 5th to 4th between 15K and 20K — a segment on which she posted the 2nd-fastest women's split. That surge helped her close out her race in 3rd among women, finishing in 2:19:29.

The gap between the two was substantial — over 25 minutes — but both athletes navigated genuinely tough conditions to get to the line. In the N20-24 age group, Wohlers takes the top spot, and Cajes earns the runner-up finish on her home course.
