Dorcas Huang of Philadelphia owned this race from the front. Her 18:04 finish at 5:49/mi was the standard the entire women's field chased, and no one got close. Shannon Jones, 40, from Ormond Beach, FL, was the best of the challengers, crossing in 18:20 to claim second — a strong 5:54/mi average that held off everyone else by a comfortable margin.

Ashley Rathbun had a story worth telling. She stood on this same Utica course in 2025 and finished 2nd among women in 20:30. This year she returned, ran 19:05 at 6:09/mi, and landed 3rd — a 1:25 improvement over her prior result here. That's a meaningful step forward, even if the winner was out of reach. Kelly Fisher (4th, 19:46) and 16-year-old Mia Rugari (5th, 19:57) rounded out a competitive top five, with Rugari's near-two-minute improvement from her 2024 appearance here one of the more striking individual progressions in the field.

The depth behind the top five was notable. Jennifer Conover, 51, from Oriskany, ran 20:51 at 6:43/mi to finish 7th — ahead of two teenagers in Sierra Townsend (8th, 21:02) and Kylie Murray (11th, 21:27). Murray, who finished 9th here in 2024, trimmed 41 seconds off that result. At the other end of the age spectrum, 10-year-old N. Pokines of Rome, NY, ran 20:46 to finish 6th — a number that speaks for itself.
