Paul Telesca, 35, of Liverpool, put on a masterclass in the M35-39 field. Brandon Doran of Albany held a firm grip on second, running 20:31 at a 6:36 pace — a full 6:44-per-mile slower than Telesca and a world apart in terms of competitive position, yet comfortably clear of the chase pack. His 2:17 cushion over Theodore Losowski in 3rd was nearly as commanding as Telesca's over him.
