Kristine Thorne of Clifton Park made this race her own. The 76-year-old ran a composed 10:04/mi to finish in 31:15 — a margin of 5:28 over second place that left no doubt about who owned the F75-79 field. In 87% humidity on a July morning, that kind of sustained pace is a genuine statement.

Behind her, the battle for second was as tight as the win was decisive. Janet Balderston of Little Falls ran 36:43 at 11:49/mi to claim the runner-up spot, with Jean Miller of Brasher Falls finishing just six seconds back in 36:49 at 11:51/mi.
