Magdalena Marcelo, just 19 years old from Porterville, delivered the defining performance of the women's race. Sitting 7th among women at the one-mile mark, she didn't just inch forward — she ran the 5th-fastest women's split from there to the finish and swept all the way to the top, crossing in 39:37 at a 6:23/mi clip. That's a gap of nearly seven minutes to the next finisher, a margin that speaks for itself on a warm November morning in Fresno.

Behind her, the race for the podium was a genuine battle. Sydney Ramos of Clovis moved from 10th to 2nd, finishing in 46:19 with the 8th-fastest closing split among women. Then came a two-second photo finish between Alejandra Baglietto (46:35, 6th-fastest closing split) and Teri Barrett (46:37, 7th-fastest), both from the Central Valley and both running 7:30/mi. Baglietto, 46, from Visalia, edged Barrett, 49, from Clovis — two athletes deep into their forties trading blows all the way to the line.

The broader women's field of 477 finishers had plenty of its own stories. Brooklyn Wake, just 13 years old from Clovis, ran 47:53 to place 6th — ahead of a field full of adults. Mia Jauregui (5th, 47:43) also made a strong late move, climbing from 16th at the mile mark with the 9th-fastest closing split. Further back, 14-year-old Mckenzie Feagin (10th, 50:32) and 17-year-old Daniela Aguilar (11th, 51:03) showed the young depth running through this Central Valley field.
