• Magdalena Marcelo, 19 (Porterville), wins in 39:37 — a 6:23/mi pace that left the field nearly 12 minutes behind.
• Closest battle of the day: Ainsleykate Unruh, 18 (Clovis), closed hard to finish 3rd in 51:05 — just two seconds behind Daniela Aguilar's 2nd-place 51:03.
• Best late charge: Unruh moved from 28th among women at the 1-mile mark to 13th by the finish, posting the 14th-fastest women's split on that stretch — edging Aguilar (16th-fastest) in the final push.
• Annie Neufeld, 16 (Exeter), faded: She ran through the first mile in 11th among women but slipped to 18th by the finish, landing 4th in the F15-19 group at 52:02.

Magdalena Marcelo turned the F15-19 race into a solo time trial from the gun. Her 39:37 — a 6:23/mi clip on a warm November morning in Fresno — placed her 1st among all women from the opening mile to the tape, and her 5th-fastest women's split on the back half of the course confirmed she never let up. The gap to 2nd place was 11 minutes and 26 seconds: this one was never a contest for the top spot.

The real drama played out entirely for the silver and bronze. Daniela Aguilar, 17, of Fresno came through the first mile in 18th among women and worked her way steadily up to 12th, crossing in 51:03. Right behind her, Ainsleykate Unruh of Clovis was doing something even more aggressive — starting 28th among women and climbing all the way to 13th. Her 14th-fastest women's split on the 1M-to-finish stretch was a tick quicker than Aguilar's 16th-fastest, and she closed the gap to just two seconds — but Aguilar held on for 2nd in 51:03 to Unruh's 51:05.

Nseya Mutombo, 15 (Fresno), rounded out the top five in 53:58, while Julia Ganzenhuber (54:57), Melissa Miramontes (55:18), and Luz Rojas (55:19) ran a tight cluster through 6th, 7th, and 8th. Notably, Adriana Vargas of Fresno finished 14th in the age group with a 47:23 — a 7:38/mi effort that stood apart from the pack around her. Twenty-seven girls toed the line in the F15-19 group on a clear, 74-degree Central Valley morning; Marcelo made it look easy.
