Yesenia Roque owned this race wire to wire in 74°F Fresno heat, finishing in 51:44 at an 8:20/mi clip — a full 1:21 clear of the field. Her closing split ranked 19th among all women from mile 1 to the finish, a steady, controlled effort that never let the competition get close enough to matter.

The real drama behind her was a battle of contrasting second halves.
