But her Half→30K split ranked 933rd among women, slower than Pye's on that stretch, and the 10:46 margin that existed at the line reflects exactly where that difference was built.

Pye's own late-race tracking told a slightly different story: she peaked at 926th among women around the 30K mark before drifting back to 940th by the finish — a sign that the final miles asked something of her too.
