Helen Webb made the F20-24 result about as definitive as a half marathon allows. The 20-year-old from Chattanooga crossed in 1:32:14 — a 7:02-per-mile clip that left the rest of the age group well behind before the finish line was even in sight. She was running with the sharpest women in the field on the back half of the course, posting the 6th-fastest 10K-to-Finish split among all women. That's not an age-group footnote; that's a performance that held up against the entire women's field.

Behind Webb, Caryss Connor of Tullahoma claimed 2nd in 2:01:50, with Tullahoma teammate Cassidy Hinchman 3rd in 2:05:04 — a tidy 3:14 separating them. Both faded slightly among the women's field in the second half, but held their positions within the age group comfortably enough.

The most interesting battle in the closing miles was the fight for 4th and 5th. Angelica Hernandez-Ortiz (2:11:54) and Hannah Payne (2:12:09) finished just 15 seconds apart, but they got there very differently. Hernandez-Ortiz actually moved up five places among women on the back half, finishing stronger than she started. Payne, meanwhile, dropped 32 spots among women after the 10K mark — her 115th-fastest 10K-to-Finish split among women told the story of a tough final stretch. Hernandez-Ortiz earned that 4th-place finish.

The back half of the F20-24 field stretched from Madison Kirkland's 2:14:05 in 6th all the way to Sydney Keesler's 2:40:56 in 14th, with eight runners spread across 26 minutes. On a mild December day in Huntsville — 59°F and a light breeze — conditions gave everyone a fair shot. Webb simply made the most of it.
