• J. Roth, age 11, claims 3rd in 20:18 — an impressive result for one of the youngest boys near the front of this field.
• G. Ryazanov, age 9, finishes 17th in 22:53 — by far the youngest finisher in the top 20, running 7:22/mi.

Wyatt Patterson of Bloomington, IL, took the win in the M01-14 field on a warm Utica morning — 84°F with humidity in the mid-50s — crossing in 19:06 at a 6:09/mi clip. That's a serious pace for any 5K, and Patterson held it together to claim the top spot among 225 finishers.

Logan Kubecka of Mohawk, NY, made it a real race. His 19:14 finish — a 6:11/mi average — kept Patterson honest the whole way, and the 8-second gap between them was the tightest on the leaderboard. After that duo, a small gap opened before J. Roth of New Hartford arrived in 20:18. At just 11 years old running 6:32/mi, Roth's 3rd-place finish stands out as one of the more striking results of the morning. Adam Woolheater (20:27) and Alexander Dys (20:30) rounded out the top five within 12 seconds of each other, both running 6:35–6:36/mi.

A tight cluster formed from 8th through 11th — Dominic Shand (22:12), Aiden Fuller (22:13), Sean Acee (22:15), and Brycen Kilts (22:17) all finished within a five-second window, each running right around 7:09–7:10/mi. And then there's G. Ryazanov of Weehawken, NJ — nine years old, 17th place, 22:53. In a field that runs up to age 14, finishing that deep in the standings at that age is worth a moment of recognition.
