Her 6:42/mi average on a warm July morning in Utica produced a 20:48 that stood 2:31 clear of the entire field — a gap so decisive it was never really a competition for the top spot. In a race where 84°F heat and humidity can grind paces down, Laris's sub-21 effort was the standout number of the morning in F30-34.

Behind her, the real drama played out in a fierce three-way scrum for the podium.
