Boilermaker 5K F15-19: Gonzalez-Rivera edges Langsdorf in a blistering sub-22 showdown

• Jasmin Gonzalez-Rivera won the F15-19 race in 21:17 (6:51/mi), holding off Isla Langsdorf by just 7 seconds.
• The top three all broke 21:44, with Keelyn Simpson claiming third in 21:43 at 6:59/mi.
• Kylie Murray, just 15 years old, ran 22:08 to take fourth — the only other finisher under 22:30.
• 167 girls finished in the F15-19 field on a warm, 84°F afternoon in Utica.

The F15-19 race delivered one of the sharpest front-end battles of the day. Jasmin Gonzalez-Rivera, 18, of Utica, crossed in 21:17 at a 6:51/mi clip to claim the win — a genuinely fast time given the heat and humidity hanging over the course. Chasing her every step of the way was Isla Langsdorf of Clinton, who finished in 21:24 at 6:53/mi. Seven seconds separated them at the line — close enough to make this one of the tightest finishes in the field, but Gonzalez-Rivera held her pace and held her nerve.

Third place went to Keelyn Simpson, 16, of Utica, who crossed in 21:43 — just 19 seconds behind Langsdorf and well clear of fourth. That podium trio ran at a level noticeably above the rest of the field: Kylie Murray's 22:08 in fourth was a strong run in its own right, but it came 25 seconds after Simpson. Murray, at just 15, pushed the pace to 7:07/mi in the heat and earned the best result among the youngest competitors up front. Petra Bochonko, 16, of Winston-Salem, NC — the only top-five finisher not from New York — rounded out the top five in 22:38.

From there, the field spread out across the warm afternoon miles. Grace Lally (23:02), Nyalynn Awak (23:30), and Ella Dischiavo (23:45) held the next tier, finishing sixth through eighth respectively. Karley Nicholl and Tatiyana Fosu closed out the top ten in 24:06 and 24:20. With 167 finishers spread across the F15-19 field, the depth was real — but the story at the front was Gonzalez-Rivera's wire-to-wire command in her hometown race.
