Boilermaker 15K Women's 60–64: Mori-Stoodley surges home in Utica

• Josephine Mori-Stoodley won the F60-64 race in 1:06:29 (7:08/mi), nearly three minutes clear of the field.
• Lisa Butler ran the strongest closing segment among the top finishers, posting the 98th-fastest women's split from 10K to the finish on her way to 2nd in 1:09:25.
• Jean Norton secured 3rd in 1:10:44, her 132nd-fastest women's split on the 5K–10K segment helping her hold off a chasing pack.
• Places 4 through 10 were separated by just 6:47 — a tight mid-pack battle stretching from Colleen Brackett's 1:13:06 to Sylvie Watts's 1:19:53.

Josephine Mori-Stoodley of Richmond Hill, ON, put together one of the most commanding performances in the F60-64 field on a humid Utica morning — 66°F but 88% humidity made every mile work. She entered the first checkpoint ranked 533rd among women, but by 10K she had climbed to 129th, and she crossed the finish as 76th among all women, running a 7:08/mi average that left everyone else in her age group well behind. Her closing leg was the 59th-fastest women's split from 10K to the finish in the entire women's field — a finishing kick that sealed a 2:56 victory margin.

Lisa Butler (Granville Summit, PA) was the story of the chase pack. She started conservatively — 628th among women at the first split — but ran herself into contention with a strong back half, posting the 98th-fastest women's closing split to finish 2nd in 1:09:25 at 7:27/mi. Jean Norton (Wurtsboro, NY) rounded out the podium in 1:10:44, her best segment coming in the middle of the race, where she ran the 132nd-fastest women's 5K–10K split.

Behind the top three, the race for fourth through tenth was genuinely competitive across 117 finishers. Colleen Brackett (Albany, NY) made the most dramatic move of any finisher in that group, climbing from 906th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 194th by the finish — a relentless surge to 4th in 1:13:06. Kerry Sawyer-Moran (Nepean, ON) was just 45 seconds back in 5th at 1:13:51, with Judy Andrew Piel — also of Nepean, ON — 6th in 1:15:41. The next four, from Peggy Eck's 1:18:46 through Sylvie Watts's 1:19:53, were separated by barely over a minute, making the back end of the top ten one of the tightest battles of the morning.
