His 5K-to-10K split was the 33rd-fastest among all women runners at that stage — a blistering mid-race effort that underscores just how well he was moving. The 2-minute gap he opened over Alexandre Deur (1:29:01, 6:47/mi) tells the story simply: this was a dominant wire-to-wire performance.

Deur, 52, of Yorktown, VA, held a steady position throughout, hovering around the same spot in the men's field from the midpoint onward and securing 2nd in 1:29:01. Behind him, Dan Muscarella (54, South Riding, VA) was the race's most notable mover — he was well back in the men's field through 5K but climbed steadily through every checkpoint, ultimately finishing 3rd in 1:31:31 (6:59/mi). His 15K-to-20K segment was among the sharpest in the field at that stretch of the course, and it's what carried him to the podium.

Fourth-place Yon Lambert (1:33:36, 7:08/mi) and fifth-place Timothy Suhr (1:34:40, 7:13/mi) rounded out the top five, with Suhr actually losing ground in the back half after a stronger early pace — he slipped from inside the top 140 in the men's field at 10K to 164th by the finish, while Lambert held steadier.
