• Photo-finish podium: Megan Mizer (2nd, 1:29:55), S. Konnar Ansell (3rd, 1:29:57), and Florie Lewine (4th, 1:29:59) — three runners separated by just four seconds across the line.
• Allison Adams-Gubitz surges late: Moving from 35th to 22nd among women on the way to 5th in F30-34 (1:31:01), she posted the 17th-fastest women's split on the 15K–20K stretch.
• Sa'Mone Moore and Zaheen Sarker both clocked 1:44:14 (7:57/mi) to finish 19th and 20th respectively in F30-34 — identical displayed times, with place deciding the order.

Virginia Beach delivered a fast morning — 55°F, mostly clear, and a stiff 11 mph wind off the coast — and Clarice Chasting made the most of it. The 32-year-old local ran 1:25:41 at a 6:32/mi clip, a pace that left the rest of the 547-runner F30-34 field well behind. She wasn't content to cruise, either: sitting 10th among women at the first checkpoint, she worked her way up to 4th by the halfway point and then anchored the effort with the 5th-fastest women's second-half split in the field. That combination of patience and a strong close is what separates a win from a near-miss.

Behind her, the race for 2nd through 4th was one of the tightest battles of the morning. Megan Mizer (1:29:55) got there via a powerful second half — the 11th-fastest women's split after the turn — steadily climbing from 22nd to 13th among women. S. Konnar Ansell (1:29:57) had been the stronger runner through the 10K–15K stretch, posting the 11th-fastest women's split on that segment, but couldn't quite hold Mizer off. Florie Lewine (1:29:59) rounded out the podium battle, having made her move earlier with the 17th-fastest women's split in the 5K–10K band. Four seconds covered all three of them — a genuine catch-up story where each runner found her moment at a different point on the course.

Allison Adams-Gubitz (5th, 1:31:01) was the race's most notable mover in the back half, climbing from 35th among women all the way to 22nd with a sharp 15K–20K segment. Eleanor Sun (6th, 1:31:49) and Mallory Mueller (7th, 1:32:07) completed a strong top seven, while Joy Nystrom (8th, 1:33:38) and Libby Miller (9th, 1:34:10) rounded out the top ten ahead of Madeleine Thomas in 10th at 1:38:17.
