Boilermaker 15K F30-34: Ocampo Pulls Clear in the Back Half

• Rachael Rudel (2nd, 52:45) and Anne-Marie Blaney (3rd, 53:55) both ranked among the 12th- and 13th-fastest women's middle splits (5K→10K), running nearly in lockstep through the race's midsection before separating at the line by 1:10.
• Jaimee Walling (4th, 1:00:16) was the biggest mover in the top ten, climbing from 36th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 27th by the finish — powered by the 25th-fastest women's closing split.

Daiana Ocampo of Tampa controlled this race from the front. She sat 10th among women through the first 10K, then shifted gears — her closing segment was the 6th-fastest women's split on the back half of the course — and crossed in 51:30 at a 5:32/mi clip. The gap she opened on the rest of the F30-34 field was never seriously threatened.

Behind her, Rachael Rudel and Anne-Marie Blaney ran a disciplined middle stretch, both logging near-identical 5K→10K split ranks (12th and 13th among women, respectively) and holding their gender positions steady through the finish. Rudel's 52:45 earned her second place; Blaney's 53:55 locked up third. Between second and third, the gap was 1:10 — meaningful, but both women were clearly operating well clear of the rest of the F30-34 field.

The most compelling subplot unfolded further back. Jaimee Walling (4th, 1:00:16) was buried in 36th among women at the 5K mark, but she ran the 25th-fastest closing split among women and climbed nine spots in the women's field to finish 27th. Laura Graham (5th, 1:00:47) made a similar late move, recovering from 32nd at the 10K to finish 29th among women — the pair separated by just 31 seconds and both running a 6:28–6:31/mi average. Megan Bouton rounded out the top six in 1:00:51, making for a remarkably tight 35-second cluster from fourth through sixth.
