Malea Nakanishi made a statement in the F13-15 age group, crossing in 20:39 at just 13 years old. She didn't just win — she ran a 6:39/mi average that placed her 3rd among all women at the first mile marker before settling 4th by the finish, a testament to how hard she pushed throughout. That closing split — 5th-fastest in the women's field — shows she wasn't coasting.

Lily Warren held steady in 2nd, running a consistent 7:12/mi to finish in 22:21, sitting 11th among women at both the mile and the finish. Emily Capelli rounded out the podium in 23:11, actually gaining two spots among the women's field on the back half of the course — moving from 20th to 18th — to claim 3rd in the age group. The gap from 1st to 3rd was just over two and a half minutes, while 4th-place Honi West came in at 23:56, having run herself into contention early before slipping back on the closing stretch.

Behind the top five, the race spread out considerably. Natalie O'Connor in 5th clocked 27:17, and then a cluster of finishers arrived between 32 and 34 minutes — Halahna Rockney, Carole Scott, Carrie Jones, and Claudia Pope all finishing within about 90 seconds of each other. Molly Perigny, Johnalisse Rockney, and the final three finishers rounded out a group that showed the Barks & Brews 5K draws runners at every level of the sport, from competitive racers to those simply out to enjoy a warm Sacramento morning with their community.
