Zouhair Talbi owned the M30-34 race from the moment it mattered. He entered the 8K checkpoint already sitting 2nd among men in the broader field and never surrendered that ground, posting the fastest men's split from 8K to the finish to seal a 28:18 victory. At 4:33 per mile across 6.2 miles in 93-degree Boston heat, that's a performance that demands attention.

Andrew Colley (Blowing Rock, NC) ran a composed second place in 28:37, holding 8th among men through the back half with the 5th-fastest closing split in the men's field. Patrick Tiernan rounded out the podium in 28:45, also steady across the second half. All three were clearly operating in a different gear from the rest of the M30-34 field — the next finisher, Timothy Gill, came home in 31:21, more than two and a half minutes back.

Behind the top five, the M30-34 group spread out across a wide range of finish times, with 653 finishers beyond the top 20 navigating a course made genuinely punishing by the heat. Jordon Hoffman (Rome, NY) was first to break into the 33-minute range at 6th, while the Boston-area contingent — Brian Lee, Jeffrey Noyes, Zach Dombi, and Xinmin Qian — clustered tightly through 7th to 11th. In a field of 673, that kind of compression in the middle of the pack reflects just how much the conditions flattened the race for everyone not named Talbi.
