Alisha Brown of Madera was running 18th among women through the early miles — not a position that screams podium — but she found another gear after the 10K, posting the 9th-fastest women's split on that closing stretch to reel in competitor after competitor. Her 1:33:59 finish (7:10/mi) earned her 2nd in the F30-34 group and confirmed that her best running came late. Allie Campbell of Fresno was steadier throughout, sitting 9th among women at the mile mark and finishing 12th among women at 1:36:49 (7:23/mi) to claim 3rd.

Fourth and fifth place told a tale of contrasting second halves. Anne Bacay (1:41:41, 7:45/mi) had run with the lead pack early — 11th among women at the mile — but faded to 22nd among women by the finish. Chelsea Kosareff of Los Angeles (1:42:57, 7:51/mi) was more consistent, moving from 25th among women at the 10K to 24th at the line. The gap between 4th and 5th was just 76 seconds, the tightest battle on the F30-34 podium fringes on a warm November morning in Fresno.
