F30-34 Half Marathon: Crocker dominates, Brown and Campbell complete a Fresno-area podium

• Mary Crocker won the F30-34 age group in 1:31:32 (6:59/mi), climbing from 43rd among women at mile 1 all the way to 6th among women by the finish.
• Alisha Brown ran the 9th-fastest women's split from 10K to the finish, surging from 81st among women at mile 1 to 9th at the line — the biggest positional climb in the top five.
• The gap from 1st to 3rd was 5:17; from 3rd to 5th it compressed to just 6:08 — the podium was settled, but the race for 4th and 5th stayed alive deep into the back half.
• Anne Bacay was as high as 5th among women through 10K before fading to 22nd among women by the finish, the most dramatic late-race reversal in the top five.

Mary Crocker put on a masterclass in pacing and patience. Starting the mile-1 checkpoint buried 43rd among women, the Porterville 30-year-old steadily reeled in the field, posting the 9th-fastest women's split from mile 1 through 10K to vault herself into the top 10 among women. By the finish she had climbed to 6th among women overall — an extraordinary trajectory on a warm November morning in Fresno, with temperatures touching 74°F. Her 6:59/mi average left everyone else in the F30-34 group well behind.

Alisha Brown of Madera had the most dramatic arc of anyone in the group. She crossed the mile-1 mark 81st among women — barely a blip — then quietly assembled the 9th-fastest women's split from 10K to the finish to land 2nd in the age group in 1:33:59. Allie Campbell, racing on home turf in Fresno, rounded out the podium in 1:36:49, her 15th-fastest women's split from mile 1 through 10K doing the early heavy lifting.

The race for 4th and 5th had its own drama. Anne Bacay looked like a podium threat, cracking the top 5 among women through 10K, but the back half didn't hold and she settled for 4th in 1:41:41. Chelsea Kosareff, meanwhile, ran the opposite race — starting 74th among women and posting the 24th-fastest women's split from 10K to the finish to sneak past for 5th in 1:42:57. In a field of 137 finishers, the top five told five very different stories.
