Gregory had already claimed 2nd in the men's Half Marathon at the same event, making his 8K title a genuine double that stands as one of the most impressive individual performances across the Shamrock weekend.

The race behind Gregory told its own story. Avant (32:38, 6:34/mi) and James Grace (3rd, 34:05, 6:51/mi) settled into the podium positions, with Avant holding a 1:27 cushion over Grace. Brandon Zimmerly's 4th-place finish (32:15, 6:29/mi) is worth a second look — his average pace was faster than Avant's, and his 35th-fastest 2M→4M split was right behind Grace's 34th, yet his slower opening miles left him a full 23 seconds back of Avant at the line.
