Blake Nieter controlled this race from the front. The 18-year-old from Chesapeake covered the 8K at a 5:57/mi clip on a cool, breezy Virginia Beach morning — a pace that left the rest of the M15-19 field well in his wake. His 29:37 was the benchmark nobody else came close to matching, and his closing split ranked 12th among the women's field on that final segment, a sign he was still moving well at the end.

Jackson Pruitt, 17, from Virginia Beach, was the clear runner-up in 30:31. He made his move between the 2M and 4M marks, climbing from 22nd to 18th in the women's standings on that stretch — his 20th-fastest split on that segment showed real mid-race strength. But Nieter was simply gone by then, and Pruitt's race was ultimately a comfortable hold on 2nd rather than a chase.

The most dramatic arc in the top five belonged to Trevor Holmes. The 15-year-old from Virginia Beach was buried in the women's standings early — well outside the top 100 — but ran himself all the way to 45th by the finish, posting the 16th-fastest closing split in the women's field on the final two miles. That surge was enough to leapfrog Jaxon Sykes (4th, 32:35) and TJ Anderson (5th, 33:31), both of whom had been ahead of him at the midpoint. Anderson, also 15, actually ran the faster second half of those two — Sykes faded from 30th to 34th in the women's standings while Anderson slipped only slightly — but Holmes caught them both regardless, finishing 33:37 to their 32:35 and 33:31.

In a field of 113 finishers, the top five were all Hampton Roads teenagers, a local sweep that matched the hometown energy of one of Virginia Beach's signature spring races.
