Two Cities Marathon F20-24: Dominguez Dominates at 20

• Ashley Dominguez won the F20-24 group in 3:00:54 (6:54/mi), finishing 4th among all women on the day.
• Rylee Schwee took 2nd in 3:20:27, posting the 10th-fastest women's split from 10K to 13.1M en route to a 19:33 gap back to Dominguez.
• Kate Hovatter and Sydney Falk ran within 9:10 of each other at 3rd and 4th — but Hovatter's 20th-fastest women's 13.1M→18M split helped her hold the edge, finishing in 3:34:38 vs. Falk's 3:43:48.
• Erica Gunden rounded out the top five in 3:44:32, just 44 seconds behind Falk, logging the 24th-fastest women's split from 19.8M to 23M.

Ashley Dominguez, just 20 years old out of Irvine, turned in the most commanding performance in the F20-24 field. Her 3:00:54 — a 6:54/mi clip across 26.2 miles on Fresno's flat, point-to-point course — put her 4th among all women in the race and nearly 20 minutes clear of everyone else in her age group. She didn't just hold on, either: Dominguez closed with the 2nd-fastest women's split from 25.2M to the finish, meaning she was still accelerating when it mattered most.

Rylee Schwee (San Francisco) ran a controlled race to claim 2nd in 3:20:27, peaking with the 10th-fastest women's split through the 10K-to-half stretch and steadily climbing the women's standings from 13th at the opening checkpoint to 11th by the finish. Sydney Falk (Clovis) also posted the 20th-fastest women's 10K→13.1M split, but couldn't quite close the gap on Kate Hovatter, who had already built her cushion earlier in the race despite fading through the women's field — Hovatter entered the top 10 among women early before drifting to 18th by the finish, yet her 3:34:38 was enough to hold 3rd in the age group.

Behind the top five, the field spread considerably. Sophie Benmore (Naperville) came in 6th at 4:20:04, with Kelly Schwenger, Carmela Rossi, Allie Contreras, and Alina Sheikh filling out the next tier between 4:37 and 5:30. Katori Carlos, Desi Lammer, Skylar Hazelrigg, Hannah Mayer, and Alyssa Castro — all five from the Fresno area — completed the field, with Castro's 7:16:26 closing out a group that spanned more than four hours from first to last.
