Leticia Aguiniga Espinoza came to the Two Cities Marathon as the only woman entered in the F70-74 age group, and she made sure the result was worth recording: 6:10:19 on a flat, point-to-point course through California's Central Valley, covering 26.2 miles at 14:07 per mile at age 74.

The race data tells a quiet but honest story. Her position among the women's field drifted gradually through the middle miles — from 136th at the first checkpoint to as far back as 151st — before she steadied and began reeling runners in. By the 18M–19.8M segment she was moving with genuine purpose, clocking the 115th-fastest women's split on that stretch across the entire field. From there she held her ground to the finish, crossing at 142nd among women.

There's no competition to dissect in the F70-74 group, but that's beside the point. Completing a marathon at 74 on a USATF-certified Boston Qualifier course is its own statement. Aguiniga Espinoza did exactly that — and she did it on home turf.
