His gender standings tell a more turbulent middle stretch — slipping as far back as 4th among all men around mile 18 before rallying to 2nd — but in M20-24 he was never seriously challenged. A 25-minute gap to runner-up Carr-Wallace says everything.

Behind him, the real drama unfolded between Carr-Wallace and geovanni. Carr-Wallace (6:38/mi) was the steadier presence through the middle miles, but geovanni (6:41/mi) was the one moving. After sitting 18th among men at the halfway point, geovanni climbed all the way to 18th — posting the 14th-fastest second-half split in the men's field — and nearly erased the gap entirely. He finished 3rd in 2:55:08, just 61 seconds back, after Carr-Wallace answered with the 6th-fastest closing split (25.2M→Finish) among the men to hold him off. Fluetsch (2:57:37, 6:46/mi) held 4th comfortably, while Fleck (3:03:57, 7:01/mi) faded through the middle stretch before steadying. Pedro Buso (6th, 3:18:26) and Bacci Bryant (7th, 3:43:49) closed out the top seven, with Bryant edging Brian Estrada (8th, 3:46:49) and Tyler Krueger (9th, 3:46:52) — those two separated by just three seconds at the line.
