Two Cities Marathon M60-64: Reina Rules the Valley

• Roland Reina won the M60-64 group in 3:19:37 (7:37/mi), finishing nearly 30 minutes clear of the field on Fresno's flat, fast course.
• Jun Meng claimed 2nd in 3:49:35, with Hanoch Raviv taking 3rd in 4:03:41 — a 14-minute gap between them.
• The back half belonged to the climbers: Raviv, Tom Halverson (4th, 4:11:31), and Clinton Carlisle (5th, 4:33:07) all moved up significantly in the men's field from 10K to the finish, each gaining dozens of places on the closing stretch.
• 13 men completed the M60-64 race, spanning nearly three hours from first to last.

Roland Reina, 60, of Fresno, made the most of his home course. His 7:37/mi average is a genuinely commanding effort — fast enough to qualify for Boston on a certified course — and his 30-minute margin over runner-up Jun Meng (3:49:35, 8:45/mi) left no doubt about who owned this age group. Reina's pace was a full minute per mile quicker than Meng's, and the gap only widened from there down the standings.

Meng, representing Monterey, held 2nd comfortably ahead of Cupertino's Hanoch Raviv, who crossed in 4:03:41 at 9:18/mi. Raviv was one of the stronger finishers in the group's second half, gaining 47 places in the men's field between 10K and the finish — the biggest surge among the top three. Halverson (4:11:31) made an even more dramatic move, climbing 75 spots in the men's field over that same stretch, making the Missoula runner one of the day's most notable closers in the group.

Carlisle (4:33:07) and Nik Tehrani (4:34:50) were separated by just 1:43 at 5th and 6th, the tightest battle on the board. Mark Reader (7th, 4:44:41) and Jeff Russell (8th, 4:45:35) ran nearly in tandem as well, finishing less than a minute apart. Steve Milton (9th, 5:04:38) and Roehl Caragao (10th, 5:07:03) rounded out the top ten within three minutes of each other, before the field spread out across the final three finishers — concluding with Javier Duran's determined 6:19:22 to close out the M60-64 group.
