Sedona Dionne had the F15-19 age group entirely to herself on Sunday in Fresno, and she made the most of it — crossing the line in 4:28:30 at 10:14 per mile on Two Cities' flat, point-to-point course along the Fresno/Clovis border.

The bigger story is how the race unfolded within the women's field around her. Dionne ran the early miles well enough to sit 37th among women, but the back half told a different tale — she slipped to 58th by the finish, a sign that the closing stretch cost her relative to the broader women's field. That said, her 10K-to-Finish split still ranked 61st among all women, meaning she held her own in absolute terms even as others moved through.

At 19, finishing a full marathon in 4:28:30 is a genuine accomplishment, and Dionne takes home the F15-19 title as the only athlete in her age group to toe the line and see it through to the finish.
