Jake Boston, 21, from Hercules, CA, navigated one of San Francisco's most demanding courses — 59°F, 14 mph winds, and rolling terrain — with a steady 6:49/mi to claim the M20-29 title in 1:29:18. His path through the men's field was anything but linear: his gender place drifted as high as 51st at one checkpoint before he reeled it back to 35th by the finish, a testament to how tactical and physical the race became in the back half.

Saheer Ahmed, also 21, from Los Altos Hills, made the most compelling move of the race. After running the 8M–9.6M segment with the 14th-fastest men's split in the field — sharper than Boston's 21st-fastest on that same stretch — Ahmed climbed from 65th in the men's field at the gun to 40th by the finish, crossing in 1:29:55 at 6:52/mi. The gap to Boston was 37 seconds; the effort to close it was real, but the deficit had been built too well.

Jason Gonzalez, 22 (Mountain View, CA), rounded out the podium in 1:30:39 (6:55/mi), having run as high as 27th among men early before settling to 49th by the finish — a sign the course exacted its toll. Drew Hansen, 21, told the opposite story: starting 70th among men, he kept grinding and unleashed the 13th-fastest men's split on the 12M–to-finish stretch to land 4th in 1:31:14 (6:58/mi), the most dramatic move in the top five.

Jack Dooley (1:33:03), Fredrik Saelemyr (1:34:08), and Hunter Williams (1:34:16) filled out 5th through 7th, separated by just over a minute, while Tom Wielemaker and Joseph Schull staged a tight battle for 9th and 10th — finishing in 1:35:02 and 1:35:03, a single second apart.
