Brighton and Hove's Kristin Morgan came to San Francisco and made it count. Running a 6:48/mi pace through the city's breezy, 60°F morning, Morgan crossed in 21:07 — fast enough to win the women's race, but only just. Sophia Pursley of Aptos pushed all the way to the line, finishing in 21:08 at the same 6:48/mi average. The clock showed one second between them; Morgan held the edge where it mattered.

Behind that front-running duel, Berkeley's Christina Hom delivered one of the day's most compelling performances. At 47, she ran a 7:18/mi pace to finish third in 22:41 — a full 1:33 clear of fourth-place Kaitlynn Fetterman-Riggle (22:55, 7:23/mi). Fetterman-Riggle and Pursley, both 20, represented a strong young contingent, but it was Hom who owned the podium's third step. Further down the results, 11-year-old Vanessa Sainz of Oakley posted a 27:32 at 8:52/mi to place 16th among 817 women — a number that speaks for itself. The middle of the field tightened considerably from positions 6 through 20, with Zacnite Villamil (25:28) through Nicole Sagui (28:07) covering less than three minutes across fifteen finishers, making for a densely packed chase pack on a gusty morning by the bay.
