• Michel Ramirez took 2nd in 47:30, with the 3rd-fastest Skyline→Finish split — a strong close that secured the runner-up spot by 23 seconds over Andrew McIntire.
• Andrew McIntire entered the final segment leading among the men, then slipped to 3rd by the finish — his Skyline→Finish split ranked 8th among the men as Doocy and Ramirez came through.
• A wide gap separates the podium from the rest: Brett Bell's 4th-place 50:50 is nearly three minutes behind McIntire, and the field spreads across more than two hours from 1st to 15th.

James Doocy made his decisive move where it mattered most. After running in 2nd place among the men through the bulk of the course, he flipped the order on the Skyline→Finish segment, posting the fastest split there to cross in 45:17 — more than two minutes clear of Ramirez. At 38, Doocy was the oldest man on the podium and the sharpest finisher in the group.

The real drama in the top four was Andrew McIntire's fade. He held the men's lead heading into that final stretch, but his Skyline→Finish split ranked only 8th among the men, allowing both Doocy and Ramirez to surge past. Ramirez's 3rd-fastest closing split was enough to lock up 2nd; McIntire settled for 3rd in 47:53, just 23 seconds back. Brett Bell ran a composed 4th in 50:50, but the podium was already decided well ahead of him.

Behind the top four, the M30-39 field spread out considerably across Fort Ord's trails. Aaron Callihan (5th, 56:33) was the last man under the hour mark, with Michael Duran just over it at 1:00:21 in 6th. The back half of the 15-man group ranged from Javier Lopez's 1:03:33 all the way to Tyler Riggleman's 2:25:50 — a reminder that this course, with its humidity and coastal wind, asks something different of every runner who lines up.
