She entered the Snow King→Finish segment sitting 35th among women and slipped only slightly to 42nd by the end, posting the 54th-fastest women's split on that closing stretch. The win was never in doubt.

Behind her, the battle for the podium was a study in contrasts. Andrea Lehr (1:42:11) held 2nd comfortably, but the real drama was between Julie Sigoloff and Catherine Weidner. At the back, Monica Shaw's 3:33:34 — a full 50 minutes behind 14th-place Jane Newhard-Parks — was its own kind of achievement: finishing this course at any pace, at altitude and in the heat, earns that.
