Ana Suchey, 45, from Folsom, CA, turned this into a masterclass of steady attrition. She entered the women's field at 61st place but climbed relentlessly — 43rd by mile 2, 36th by mile 4, and 27th by the finish. The 6:59/mi average tells the story cleanly: on a breezy San Francisco morning with 17 mph winds and 59°F temperatures, she ran a pace that none of her F45-49 rivals could match, finishing 11 minutes and 21 seconds ahead of Kristin Robillard.

Robillard, 48, from Ross, CA, ran a composed race of her own, holding steady in the mid-80s among women for much of the back half before a strong 10M–12M segment helped her close out 2nd in 1:42:50. Derrough, also 48, out of Oakland, came in 3rd at 1:48:14, her early energy on the 2M–4M stretch giving her the foundation she needed, even as her women's field position drifted slightly in the final miles.

The gap from 3rd to 4th was tight by comparison: Tamar Gamliel (4th, 1:49:50, 8:23/mi) and Brooke Wilberg (5th, 1:50:53, 8:28/mi) were separated by just over a minute, with Gamliel working her way back up the women's field after a sluggish mid-race stretch. Rina Shah (6th, 1:52:07), Leah Ruiz (7th, 1:52:41), and Frances Yiu (8th, 1:52:52) compressed into a tight 45-second window — a genuine battle for position in a competitive F45-49 field of 81 finishers. Suchey, though, was in a race of her own.
