The 41-year-old local ran at the front of the women's field from the very first checkpoint — gender place 1 through every split — and never relinquished it, crossing in 2:48:34 at a 6:26/mi clip. That's a remarkable turnaround from 2024, when she finished 4th here in 2:54:05. Nearly six minutes faster, one spot better than the podium last year, and now the outright winner — Allan's progression at this race is a genuine storyline.

Behind her, the podium picture shifted late. Tay Cavett of Huntsville ran 2nd from the opening checkpoint through the halfway point, logging the 3rd-fastest women's split on the 10K-to-half segment. But Bella Butler — sitting 3rd through that same stretch with the 4th-fastest split — ran the back half with more authority, eventually moving past Cavett in the closing miles to finish 2nd in 2:49:12 (6:27/mi). Cavett held on for 3rd in 2:51:24 (6:32/mi), a 2:12 gap back. Three women, three different paces, three different stories — all settled in the final miles.

Further down, Becca Isakoff authored the most dramatic climb of the day. Sitting 7th at every checkpoint through the halfway mark, the 27-year-old from Cleveland Heights posted the 5th-fastest women's split on the 10K-to-half segment and kept pressing, eventually overtaking three runners to finish 5th in 2:59:50. Deanna Doane held steady in 4th at 2:57:52 (6:47/mi), while Riley Davis rounded out the top six in 3:01:17 — a 3:12 improvement over her own 3:04:29 from the 2023 edition of this race. In a 498-woman field braving genuine December cold, the front of the race delivered drama at every turn.
