On a crisp 40°F morning, Rowen Wilcko made the trip from Erie, Pennsylvania worthwhile. The 16-year-old ran 5:50 per mile for the full 13.1, building a lead that only grew as the race wore on. His gender-place tracking tells the story plainly: he moved from 143rd among all men at 5K to 188th by the finish — not a fade, but a field full of men catching up late while Wilcko had already done his damage up front.

Oscar Greenberg, 18, of New York ran a composed 6:00/mi to claim 2nd in 1:18:44, recovering from a mid-race dip (he slipped back to 339th among men at 20K before rallying to 309th at the line). Gavin Li, another 16-year-old, ran 6:08/mi to finish 3rd in 1:20:21, posting one of the stronger 15K-to-20K splits in the men's field to close strongly.

The most compelling subplot was the 4th-vs-5th battle. Alex Califano, 19, looked to be fading badly — he tumbled from 313th among men at 5K all the way to 570th by 20K — but he steadied just enough to finish in 1:21:34, edging Princeton's Ziyang Ling (1:21:37) by three seconds. Ling had run the more consistent race, but Califano held on where it counted.

Peter Galletta (6th, 1:23:19) and Daniel Menendez (7th, 1:27:16) kept the top half of the field competitive, while a field of 96 teenagers from across the tri-state area and beyond made this one of the more geographically diverse youth showings on the day.
