Juliana Morrow of Menlo Park made the F45-49 race her own from the moment the field spread out on the streets of San Francisco. Running a 7:50/mi average, she crossed in 1:42:42 — a margin of more than seven minutes over second place in a 69-finisher field. That kind of separation doesn't happen by accident: her moves data tells the story of a runner who kept threading forward through the women's field all morning, gaining 35 places among women from start to finish and still posting the 54th-fastest women's split on the final 1.1-mile push to the line.

The real drama in F45-49 played out behind her. Fay Sien Goon of Los Gatos held second in 1:50:05 at an 8:24/mi clip, with Michele Gerdes of Eureka pressing hard throughout the second half — Gerdes moved from 229th among women early on all the way to 168th, posting the 132nd-fastest women's split on the closing segment. She finished just 52 seconds behind Goon at 1:50:57. Johnny Ng of Santa Clara rounded out the podium in 4th at 1:52:29, having surged powerfully through the middle miles (jumping from 245th among women to 180th between checkpoints one and two) before settling into her final position.

Further back, the story of 5th place belongs to contrasting fortunes. Mara Sohn of San Francisco started aggressively — 140th among women at the gun — but faded steadily to finish 5th in 1:53:00. Meanwhile, Anna Baumgartner (1:53:18, 6th) and Christina Wing (1:53:28, 7th) — both San Jose and San Francisco locals respectively — ran composed races to close within 28 seconds of each other. Solmaz Derrough and Sophia Chen rounded out the top ten at 1:54:51 and 1:54:59, separated by just eight seconds after 13.1 miles through the city.
