Lori Sherman of North Bethesda, MD left no doubt in the F65-69 race, crossing in 4:20:43 at a 9:57/mi clip — a pace that kept her steadily climbing through the women's field all afternoon. She entered the mid-race checkpoint ranked 587th among women and worked her way up to 489th by the late miles, a consistent push through San Francisco's famously uneven terrain on a cool, humid July morning.

Sheena Shi of Sunnyvale, CA made her move late. After sitting deep in the women's field for much of the race, she unleashed the strongest finishing kick in the F65-69 group, logging the 323rd-fastest women's split on the final stretch from 24.69 miles to the finish. That surge lifted her from 993rd among women at the penultimate checkpoint all the way to 803rd at the line, and she claimed 2nd in 4:44:20. Siew Chuah of Walnut Creek rounded out the podium in 5:17:55 (12:08/mi), posting a solid 3rd-place finish.

Thu Hang Ho of San Jose finished 4th in 5:34:35, having run one of the more dynamic early races in the group — climbing from 1,301st among women at the first checkpoint to as high as 1,027th by mid-race before fading slightly in the back half. The battle for 5th was the closest of the day: Zainab Shamma of Lewisburg, WV edged Leticia Banda of Durango by just 32 seconds — 6:09:44 to 6:10:16 — after more than six hours on the course. Yueh Li Chou of Glenview finished 7th in 6:24:44, and J Jacqueline McLean of Honolulu completed the eight-woman field in 6:26:57.
